We love art in all forms @ the st.mel gallery.

Some of our favourite works were purchased this week, by a lovely couple so

at least they are going to a fantastic space/home, to loved and admired.

Next exhibition is Tay's new photography works, a series of moving portrait work.

The open night will be the 8th of Oct from 4:30pm... meet the artist and have a cider.

Also Katarina has filled a empty space with a such an awesome piece titled: 'You make me feel good' soo many great comments just after a couple of hours of hanging brightly in the gallery.

So the other day it's was blowing a gale and near snowy temps in our home of Daylesford Town , so I was a tad bored @ the st.mel cyclery as nobody dared to walked down the street to come visit. I spotted an old skateboard arrrh as my canvas and permanent maker as my weapon! I got to work...!

We love it when Nick comes flying into the shop...always with a great story or idea...this weekend we were dicussing doing stunt jumps into the Lake with our bikes off a mini ramp! 12 years old much?

There were thoughts and in-depth dicussions of to wear a life jacket or not...do we need to tie floatation items to our bikes... will we get in trouble by the Fuzz, will we get grounded?

Nick also brought in his Sweet Colnago ... for that extra bit of bling, he added some super fly green pedals.

I was seriously having some bike envy, I loved it so much Icould'nt stop taking snaps..

So we head into another year of st.mel it's always around this time I reflect on how st.mel got started.
On a spur of moment idea while having a coffee with my mate Gena, which at the time ran a Bikini Company. I said hey I'm gonna started a streetwear label, and she said cool let's do a Launch Night.So just like two crazy ladies we organised a Spring Fling launch party all in a matter 6weeks. It was huge catwalk show, break dancers, dj mellymel spinnin'! All the money raised went to the Amy Gillett Foundation.
So I think we are turning 4 years old..or is it 5?

Anyhoo I'm still loving creating new and fresh threads... so checkout the 1st wave of newbies and introducing Sandra Carter's Signature Range 'Sange'. She is a Pro Beach Volleyballer about to embark on a tour of the European Circuit and of member of the st.mel Crew of course!

So we have been open for a little while now and lovin' it. Meeting some awesome local peeps, Meg from Critical Mass lovin' your work Meg!

Nick Sara who comes spinnin' in full of joy and excitement after he has been trail blazin' through our sweet tracks in D town, telling me how he has discovered new downhill sections and single trail on his well spec out singlespeed. Hardcore!

He has dropped in a little beauty to the cyclery... I think of it as a work of art. He is meticulous and pasionate about his retro fitting of old time classics.

So Le Tour has started, st.mel has been pulling some serious all nighters. Thanks to my coffee machine and the crazy ass excitement of the spills and thrills of the first stages. I personally love the fact they have included cobbles... what a crazy dust bowl it was of shredded lycra and some of the best cycling gladiators were out on the front.

While I have been up to the wee hours, I was productive sewing up some new musette's.

First round of The Chase the Sun Series, 5 hours out on the MTB saddle at Lysterfield.The rain held off= awesome. The st.mel crew had a great day out. Katherine O'Shea pretty much straight off the plane from her part:1 European Campaign, took out the Pro Pairs with her Torq team mate. Jo Hall and Leah Rogers took 3rd place in the Pro Pairs for Gaint Bikes. Leah coming off a complete lack of training,or no training is taking the Tour France approach don't wanna peak to early, "these races are a great way to ride into form". Good on you chicks!

so I've been soo busy lately... with the Sainthood Launch and Xmas orders, that I hav'nt had time to Blog. I'm really happy with the new collection, it's been my most satisfying personally, really happy with my one off pieces from old st.mel gear to reclaimed materials or garments. The runway was fantastic, big thanks to my gorgeous models and a big shout out to Narin of http://www.stringbeanbeads.com/ for supplying the beautiful beads for the ladies, Brit from Bibi for her restyling of the 'LIFE' tee into a sexy dress , big props to of course my right hand lady Dj Junior helping put the night together.
We really did "Rock it!"... Dj Junior and I spun some serious Old School Hip Hop on the decks, there was some dance offs and the crew were getting down with the worm! Just when you thought you could'nt have anymore fun the runnway lights were turned into a skipping rope light show... so cool to watch!

Anyhoo checkout the new collection and xmas packs for some sweet presents for xmas...

It was a hot Melbourne night, so the crew also had to stop and relieve themselves with cold beverages at the local pubs. mmmmm Beeer!

Well here goes....this is the first st.mel blog! Hope you will find my ramblings somewhat amusing and a wee bit inspiring.....
At the moment I'm working on my new season collection that will have it's first showing at our Xmas Launch Party on 4th Dec titled 'Join The Sainthood'. I've found that I have fallen in love with the sewing machine, reinventing old st.mel garments, reclaimed materials and clothes into new cool threads to wear. This will be st.mel's new Green Label.
So I best get back to creating.. and figuring out the runway list of songs.. feel free to comment and suggest any good ones...
